Swiss orienteering club
donates controls to IOG.
The Swiss orienteering club OLK Wiggertal has donated 50 control units to IOG.
Urs Zinniker president for OLK Wiggertal say:
When our club for years ago introduced electronic punching system the old
controls units became redundant, and has been out of use since then.
Even though the control units are 30-40 years old, they are still intact because
of their robust design.
They were produced in 1970-80 by one of the founders of the club Heinrich
Zinniker.
Now later in life Heinrich is still active in OLK Wiggertal.
The control units which have served the club for many years, has also been used
at great events such as the Swiss Championship and the Swiss 5-days.
Urs Zinniker further express that it is a pleasure for our club that the control
units will continue to benefit the orienteering sport.
Ilulissat Orienteering Greenland is very thankful to OLK Wiggertal for the
donation.
They will mainly be used for training in the local area about Ilulissat.
